Why Tangerine?

A tangerine has always felt like a small symbol of care to me.

When someone peels a tangerine for you, it's rarely a grand gesture. It's ordinary. Easy to overlook. But it carries a message: I thought of you. I wanted to make this a little easier.

Many of the relationships that thrive aren't built on dramatic declarations of love. They're built on little moments of attention, consistency, curiosity, repair, generosity, and care. The everyday acts that tell us we matter to one another.

Therapy often begins with a small hope that things can feel different, that old wounds can heal, that understanding can grow, that connection can be rebuilt.

The tangerine orange color has long been associated with creativity, vitality, curiosity, and sexuality. These deeply human parts of us can become constrained by pain, trauma, fear, or disconnection. Part of the therapeutic process is creating enough safety for those parts to emerge again.

About Me

My name is Heather Rametta, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern working with couples and individuals navigating relationship challenges, attachment wounds, trauma, PTSD and complex trauma, life transitions, intimacy concerns, and questions of identity and meaning.

One of my greatest strengths as a counselor is my genuine curiosity about people. I believe most individuals are doing the best they can with the experiences, relationships, and circumstances that have shaped them. Because of that, I strive to meet clients with compassion rather than judgment.

To me, counseling is both an art and a craft. It requires knowing when to listen deeply and create space. Knowing when to gently guide. Knowing when to offer education, insight, or a new perspective. And knowing when to trust that the client already carries wisdom that is waiting to be uncovered.

As an intern, I bring a strong commitment to learning, growth, and ethical practice. I am continually studying, seeking supervision, and expanding my understanding so that I can better serve the people who place their trust in me.

Above all, I believe healing happens in relationship. Whether we are exploring patterns from the past, navigating challenges in the present, or creating new possibilities for the future, therapy offers an opportunity to understand ourselves more fully and connect more authentically with others.
